Mr & Mrs Acton…what can I say? Your Wedding absolutely blew me away, at times almost literally. With the most amazing atmosphere a true rocking festival vibe throughout this day will not be forgotten by anyone soon. It felt like the second the music started everyone was bobbing their heads, and before long were flinging off their shoes, not caring one bit about the mud between their toes. Throwing up their arms in song to the rhythm of the live band who brought the entire crowd together as one as they performed favourites.
Before things got wild Matt & Ashley were married at the iconic and historical Halifax Minster, the ceremony was both grand and personal; their guests watched as the happy couple spoke their vows so meaningfully to one another. Afterward they popped champagne and climbed into a vintage VW camper and headed to their countryside reception Wedbarn! The tipis were set up and inside you were greeted by a guitarist, a buffet style seating area and a wall of photographs of all of Matt & Ashleys adventures and memories so far <3 (I absolutely love this touch! Everyone should take more photos!!)
In typical summer festival manner the weather on this day was what can only be described as tropical. Forceful winds and spurts of torrential rain and light showers clouded over the day and for once I doubted whether or not a group shot was going to be achievable, but knowing their own guests much better than I, Matt & Ash insisted we give it a go…and I must say I certainly stand corrected: BEST WEDDING GUESTS EVER alert! These absolute troopers gathered beautifully and stood (probably laughing!) whilst I struggled up onto a ladder for height to get the right shot. We soldiered on from there and smashed the smaller formals, and although in some the wind is taking over, I cant help but smile at them! These are the moments that make your day unique and memorable.
Onto the evenings events, and guests took part in cocktail making set up by the couple. What a fantastic idea this is to bring your guests together, a different cocktail for each table in theme with their global travels table names. After a hog roast guests were treated to the most entertaining and beautiful speeches I think I have ever witnessed. So much crying laughter and tears of emotion for a rendition of bohemian rhapsody by the groomsmen and many more golden moments. It was not shortly after that the dancing truly begun, and quite frankly did not stop!
Matt & Ashley did not let anything stop them from having the most fantastic wedding possible, no mud, wind or rain could even get near crushing any spirit in them both and they really did celebrate their love for another in the most fun and fantastic way. I am so glad I was there to be apart of it! Thank you so much for having me and my awesome second shooter Peter Hugo on the day!
