Weddings
At last we’re here, we made it to 2021. Well done us! Last year was one we are certainly not sorry to see the back of, it has tested and challenged us like nothing before. Alas we are not completely out of the woods and still have the looming C word hovering around, albeit with an end in hugging distance. We have come this far already, we can smash another few months right?
Here is an update on some questions or worries you may have if you are due to get married in 2021. If none of this answers your questions though, do just drop me a message. I am always here to talk!
Changes to your booking
If you are unfortunately looking to make changes to your booking as a result of restrictions, please first and foremost be mindful of the human beings behind the business who have more than likely really suffered financially and mentally the past year and still currently. The majority of wedding suppliers are small businesses who love what they do and always strive to do the very best they can for their couples; but keep in mind they are still trying to make a life out of what they do and love as well as trying to make ends meet at home in the process. Your patience and compassion means the world them, so whilst we understand this is a worrying and upsetting time for those having to rearrange their hard work wedding planning , please be kind and understanding for the suppliers trying to keep their business afloat during this madness.
If you are wanting to change the type of coverage we originally agreed on say because you are downsizing your wedding or have planned on a smaller occasion, dont worry! Let me know what you are thinking and we will go from there. I will always try my best to meet your needs.
Postponement
Should you come to the decision to reschedule your wedding date and postpone your booking please be rested in the fact that currently I am offering to transfer all of our agreed services to an alternative date in 2021 or 2022 at no extra cost to you both, providing of course I am available. I have an availability calendar ready to share with any of my couples wanting to move their booking and I strongly urge you keep me in mind before making any decisions as I want a cancellation to be very last resort. Please remember I am a small business and greatly value your custom and the opportunity to be with you on the day to create these memories as we have planned and are looking forward to. Contact me for a link to my calendar if you do not already it.
Confirmation would still be required to secure a new date officially, so all I ask if you keep me in the loop. If a date change is required then once confirmed I will simply write up an amendment document for both our records and the service will resume as normal. Once your new date is in place your previous date will be made available and open to new bookings.
Available dates are for everyone at a first come first served applies. Dates can not be held temporarily simply to make this situation fair to all.
Please note that split services over 2 days could incur additional charges.
Currently I am unfortunately not moving bookings to 2023.
Cancellation
Worst case scenario, even in regular circumstances the last thing I ever want is to talk about to cancelling a service. Your business means so much to me as always and I will forever do my best to come to an agreement that suits us all. However, if a new date can not be agreed up on and/or you decide to cancel my services altogether, then a regular termination of contract will take place. Details of this can be found in our original agreement.
Testing Positive
Should I fall ill myself or test positive and am unable to attend your wedding for the sake of the wellbeing of yourself and your guests, then I will do everything in my power to secure a replacement photographer. I am part of a fantastic supportive community of local photographers.
Wellbeing
You all know you can reach out to me at any time during our time working together normally and this is no different, I am here if you have any questions or worries. In the mean time please look after your own mental health as well as your physical, don’t forget to take breaks from the news, wedding planning and do nice things to keep yourself grounded and calm. Here are some of the things I am doing to keep my own anxiety under control:
- Going for a run or a walk
- Do some meditation, Yoga and breathing exercises
- Reading a book
- Pampering yourself with hot bath and a face mask
- Cuddling your pets
- Listening to Podcasts
- Colouring in your colouring book
- Cleaning the house (Tidy house tidy mind!)
- Watching funny videos online
If you have any other tips for taking your mind off things, do let me know!
Stay safe, keep smiling and trust me when I say that whatever happens on your wedding day, whether its more mini than you imagined, or more stressful in the planning stages than you wanted it to be, the one thing that has always remained the same is your love for one another. Your wedding day will always be as special as it can be, because it is uniquely yours.
