Hello, hello, hello
I’m Jess (she/her) and I’m just a 30 something little scouser with a big fancy camera capturing life as it unfolds around me.
My favourite part of being a photographer is how many different people I get to meet. Love has such an abundance of different forms, each and every one of them is valid and special.
I believe everybody deserves to feel celebrated and worthy of being photographed and my aim is to create a safe space for every person I work with.
A true smile holds more magic than anything else.

MY JOURNEY
TO WHERE I AM TODAY
Got my first camera
I was an excitable teenager who went to gigs every weekend with my friends because my bands where my life. The first digital camera I got was upgraded quickly to a pocketsize Sony Cybershot and I would push myself to the front of the stage to get the best shots I could.
At school I took a few classes of an evening to learn about different styles and I built my first ever portfolio, which my uncle had printed for me, ready for my interviews at Colleges.

Learnt the craft
For the next 2 years I travelled all the way to Wigan to study for my BTEC in Photography. The course was incredible and taught me everything from building a pinhole camera, shooting manual on film and developing my own images in a darkroom. It was at college I realised I had some potential, got my first DSLR and really put my imagination to work. Working with the fashion students, taking photos of my friends and practicing in a studio environment.
Graduated University
The University of Central Lancashire was where I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, building teams and working with model agencies to build my own editorial portfolio. Fashion photography, working with people/portraiture and experimenting with light was what I really enjoyed. Some of my work was published in local magazines and I also took on my first proper paid job at a Holiday Park. My final project at Uni was chosen to be exhibited at the Free Range Show on Brick Lane in London.
Dipped my toe in the wedding industry
A few friends of mine had took on a couple of wedding clients and encouraged me to come along to try. My first assisting job was in Herefordshire with a (still very) close friend of mine and it was from that day that I felt like the stars aligned. The adrenaline, excitement, heart and fun of it all had me hooked, I felt as though this is what I was meant to be doing.
My first official booking came in shortly after and I began building my business alongside another employment (I worked in banking), through second shooting, workshops and expanding my portfolio.

Took the leap
After 7 years of patience and hard work I felt I had the confidence and more than enough bookings to leave my job and go full time doing what I loved. It was thrilling and the future was bright! 6 months later we went into a national lockdown, but we all know how that went so I won’t bore you with the dark details…
I worked tirelessly to keep my dream alive and it paid off. Now, today I am still working full time as a wedding photographer and loving every moment of it. I’m so grateful to have a job that I wholeheartedly love!

BEYOND THE LENS
Besides being the girl with the camera I’m also a dedicated dog Mum and gardener. I’m a Virgo, most at peace outdoors and enjoy travelling and hiking with my partner James and best friends.
Forever a concert goer I’m a slave to a cider in the sun with loud music and great energy. My Spotify is a wild pick n mix from early 2000’s emo punk, basic bitch pop princesses and musicals. I also love Yoga, drag queens, Stranger Things and my Kindle.
I am grateful for everyday and cherish my wonderful little life!
